2023 VENEER

Layers of truth beneath layers of beauty. Perfect cracked facade.

AdobeStock_362555623_bw.jpeg

VENEER explores the contrast between the polished surfaces we present to the world and the complex layers that exist beneath them. Crackled surfaces, metallics, symmetry and richly built texture suggest a beautiful outer facade beginning to fracture, revealing imperfections and individuality below. The series reflects on vulnerability, authenticity and the pressure to appear perfect.

TESTIMONIALS

In-Ah is such an amazing artist! Her work is really unique, with her own style that has been really curated from her experience in all kinds of different artistic areas. I just love seeing all her work, and I love it so much that I commissioned a triptych from her - I wanted a piece that fit the style of my home and had a particular vision for the space it would fit, and asked In-Ah to make me something for it. The intensity and details in the colors and textures really just makes the whole house feel so amazing. I love this piece, and love ALL her work. Honestly, anything she touches turns to gold (sometimes given her work with gold paints, quite literally!) :)
